Whoopi Weepy Over Montage Diss

It's not quite as glaring as Brad Renfro's omission from the in memoriam montage, but Whoopi Goldberg got teary this morning on "The View" over getting left off the Oscar-host clip reel -- even though she's hosted four times.

Barbara Walters wondered if she was left out because she was included in an Oscar-winner's reel, and pointed out that Steve Martin was also left out. But the waterworks started when she thanked the rest of the "View" crew for "making up" for the diss.

92. Whoopie Goldberg was in a montage. It just wasn't the one that she wanted. And I would know, because I saw it with my own two eyes. Maybe she wasn't watching it as closely as I was? Or everybody else? Somebody needs to tell her.

93. Several posts have brought up Obama (the great black hope) Isn't Obama HALF white? What about the 1/2 part of him that's white? I don't consider him a black. If he becomes president, it will be just a matter of time before he will be in the same classification as Colin Powel, Condi Rice etc.........you know what I'm talking about..............

95. I quit watching the Academy Awards years ago. They are as phoney as can be and frankly the so called actors and actresses of today will never hold a candle to the great perfromers of the 30's, 40's and 50's. There is no glamour anymore. The women try overall to look as trashy as possible and the men don't shave and call it good looking. As for Ms. Goldberg and her "rasta" hairdo, I am no fan of her acting. As for the View, ye gods and little fishes, silly and stupid. Whoopi, get over yourself. You made your mark in Hollywood, fine and dandy but you will never be the actress Halle berry is or have the talents of the first black woman to get an oscar, the great Hattie McDaniels, a credit to her race and a woman with class.

96. To all the Archie Bunkers on this board. Can you see yourselves? Your bigotry is worse than your grandfathers. And for the record, If Obama wins, it does not mean you and other bigots do not exist. It simply means, more open-minded intelligent, loving people went to the polls! Your kind still prevails. I am sure racism will be on the rise after November with the mantra, "Its ok to be racist...Obama won"

97. To post # 91. We didnt make the rules. Dead white guys did a long time ago. "One drop of black blood makes you black." You see, this rule ws used by your grandfathers and ancestors to systematically keep black people down. So now, a black man from an African father has the potential to win a major election, you people all of a sudden want to claim his whiteness? How honorable. Just like Tiger. When he came on the scene..he ws black. Now, you are not sure...you want to find some white in him too. I am willing to bet all the money you inherit from your father when he dies, that if Tiger or obama do something bad in the eyes of America's media...you will consider them black again!

98. I don't consider Obama or Tiger to be black but multi-ethnic or biracial, even though there is no such thing as race which is a socially made up word. Why is it so hard for people to accept them as multi-ethnic. I dont care who made up the one drop of black blood makes you black, I disagree with that simplification and oh so convenient denial of the facts. It bothers me when biracial people claim one part of their heritage and basically deny the other because they share more physical traits. identify more with one side over the other, or because society says so. It was laughable a few years ago when Halle Berry accepted the Oscar and kept going on about how she was the first black woman to have won. Its also interesting how the media constantly refers to Obama as the African American candidate instead of acknowledging that he is half white as well, they just say his mom was from Kansas. I think one of the reasons he is doing so well in capturing the white vote is that he is biracial and grew up with his white mother and grandparents, which makes him non-threatening and easier to accept. Obama looks more black but as Al Sharpton said he does not share or know the black experience of hardship. Anyhow, Obama and Halle are no more black than they are white to label them as either seems inaccurate.

99. jj: just because you do not agree with the 1/4th drop of black blood rule doesn't mean it does not exist. And wtf is multi-ethnic? Do you make that up too?! Halle has always referred to herself as black.... for the record, and it is a good thing b/c as we all know, when it comes down to it, that is how she is and always will be treated. She does not deny her mother, which is white. I am sure that when her mother "decided" to get pregnant by a black man that her child would be considered and treated black. Just as Halle's baby, which is by a white man, will be treated also. More importantly, what is your problem with them being "black"? Why can't it be okay that they are awesome AND black? Why can't we accept that as oppose to attempting to make them "less black" in order to be accepted?

100. Whinny little Whoppi, how big is thy ego? We certainly didn't see Steve Martin whining and emoting...and you dear Whoppi, who claim all the time you just want to be left alone, that you need your privacy, that you owe the public nothing. that you abhor publicity. But Chile, you just got what you wanted and then you cry about it? You need to go. You are joyless and so 1980. And you constantly talk about how difficult it is to be a celebrity...well honey, we are in the act of forgetting all about you and you don't seem to like that either. You just can't be pleased, Miss Whopping Ego.

102. BOO HOO WHOOPS...A number of previous hosts were not remembered and haven't heard from any of them as yet!! poor baby...at least she had the class not to claim the old "crutch of justification" DISCRIMINATION" being the reason she was overlooked!!!

Whoppi's hair style???? and her wardrobe??? she wears on the View are less than attractive and those glasses that sit on her nostrils are discusting....The View ladies are always dressed so stylish and I don't understand why Barbara Walters doesn't make Whoopi get out of the "farmer brown" clothes, get the glasses off her nostrils, and get some stylish ones..Rosie drove me off the view and now Whoppi...
